A Gift TOO large to fit under the Christmas Tree!

All this week at the City Winery, The Fab Faux played to a sold out crowd performing different Beatles albums each night.  Some of the records included, Hard Days Night, Let it Be and Help!.

They are performing 2 shows for NYE and I cannot wait to go back to listen and shoot tonight!.

Their commitment to maintaining their authenticity, as well as their stage presence is really something to experience.

Last night after one of the shows, Jimmy Vivino was shuttled off to perform alongside Government Mule at the Beacon.

Talk about something that will blow your mind!!

The Southern-Rock/Blues-Rock band is lead by Warren Haynes of The Allman Brothers, as well as Matt Abts, Danny Louis and Jorgen Carlsson.

I arrived at the second half of the show and the crowd was charged and sparks flew off the stage when Jimmy and Carmine Appice, (drummer from Vanilla Fudge and Rod Stewart’s band) “guested” with the band to do an impeccable rendition of, “You Keep Me Hangin On.”

IF THERE is any video on You Tube of this performance, you must check it out!

I can tell you first hand, I have never seen a live performance that shook me to the core like this before. Carmine’s timing and showmanship was INSANE!
He did things with drums and sticks, I didn’t think were possible.

Then as if the evening wasn’t electric enough, Robby Krieger of The Doors performs 5 to 1!  To watch a living legend and then to meet someone as gracious and kind as Robby is something I will never forget.

I am so grateful to have had the experience and now the photographs to look back upon...please check them out!

Terrific write-up and even better photo essay. Inspired us to research PO2A and Fab Faux...What we learned (and appreciated) is exactly the quote from your blog ..."It is a modern chamber ensemble, playing my generations classical music as intended by the composers (with very little license for freedom)"...In closing, we look forward to their next local engagement and hope to see you there...with the following proviso...Marion gets to hear "Oh Darling" and me "Empty Pages"...signed John aka Barleycorn :-)
